I'm toying with the idea of doing a bootcamp class this summer to shake things up and challenge myself. Anybody ever done a bootcamp program?
When bootcamps first started becoming popular, I thought they were insane. Some of the more macho programs still strike me as a bit much--I don't think I'd do a program that wasn't designed for women by women trainers. (The program that I'm looking at is an all women's program--one hour class, five days a week, for four weeks.)
But the longer bootcamps have been around, the more appealing the sound. Especially right now, when I'm frustrated about having lost the ground I gained recently. I blame the end of semester rush; the gym and I are strangers again. Or maybe I've just been watching too much Work Out (can't help it--it's one of those train wreck shows!)
If I do sign up, it'll have to wait until later in the summer so that I won't run into any scheduling conflicts. Since I certainly won't want to wait until mid-July to get back into gear, this program would have to serve less as a kick-start and more as an intensifier, something to work towards so that when I do do the program, I can use it to take me to the next level.
I don't know. Is it worth $300 or is my end-of-semester delirium talking?

I did a bootcamp, about 2 years ago, and I loved it. I used it jumpstart a new workout program and it did that for me. I went to an all women's bootcamp that was 3 days per week for 4 weeks. I did it for 2 months.
When I did it, the lady who designed it was just starting out and now she has programs all over the area. I wouldn't mind doing it again. I haven't seen them advertised in my new location though.
Thanks for the input, Ragey.
I talked it over with Chica last night, and she was totally supportive about it...so I just signed up online. I'm assuming they have space available for the session I want (the only one I can attend) and wrote the check.
Good Luck! Keep us posted on your progress.
Good for you! Do let us know how it goes for you.
Will do! The session I signed up for doesn't start until mid-July, so it'll be a while.
In the meantime, I'm trying to get back on track so I'll be in better shape even before it starts.
