Making changes

Picking up where I left off yesterday...I first made changes to my eating and drinking habits.

Eating
  • I increased my fruit and veggie intake.
  • I made sure to have a supply of those 100 calories with me each day.
  • I didn't let myself get hungry (if I do so, then I overeat).
  • I ate fish at least 2 times during the week.
  • I really paid attention to portion size.
  • I used those Ziploc Zip-n-Steam bags for my veggies. Yum!
  • Lean Cuisine for lunch.
Drinking
  • I Increased my water intake tremendously (I think I was in the bathroom every 30 minutes).
  • I drank only 1 cup of coffee each day (well 12 oz) - I was drinking 2-3 each day.
  • I didn't drink anything but water and that 1 cup of coffee.
  • I suffered with a headache for about 2 days because I severely cut my caffeine intake (I was probably drinking 1-2 cokes per day).
  • I can have 1 coke per week.
  • I only have alcohol on Saturday and I limit myself to 2 drinks.
I don't think those are big changes, but they definitely helped. Some of those, like withstanding that severe headache, took a lot of willpower. I was so tempted to drink a coke, but I was also determined. Once the headache went away, I was home free.

Tomorrow the workout routine....

Caffiene with drawl is rough. I tried it cold turkey with disastrous results. I realize that I must have some, so I limit my intake to one cup of coffee in the morning.

Fish is great. Salmon is a nice choice. the Omega 3's are great for energy.

I tell ya, that caffeine withdrawal headache was killer.

I love salmon and try to eat it pretty regularly.
