I have been slacking a little with my workouts. Maybe it's just the chaos that surrounds the beginning of the semester, which for me is next week, but there is still a lot of prep work to do. Plus, the weather here is crummy. It is cold and rainy in my neck of the woods. It does not do well for one's mood.
I had hoped that from the time my summer session ended (four weeks ago) until the beginning of the fall semester (next week), I would have lost about 10 pounds. I think I have lost three. Sigh.
I need to get my ass in gear. (Sorry for the profanity, but swearing is part of who I am). My 20th high school reunion is Thanksgiving weekend. I would like to lose 20 pounds by then. I think it is do-able, since I will have my two workout buddies pushing me to hit the gym after we finish teaching.
So here is the plan:
- Cardio 4 days a week, depending on the status of the RA.
- Strength training twice a week, depending on the RA. If the repetition of the weights causes too much pain, I will do yoga strength training.
- Continue with the one day a week take out rule that my husband and I started back in May. (We used to do take out 3 or 4 times a week).
- Continue making healthy meals at home.
- Bring healthy lunches to work and make time to EAT.(No phone calls or meetings with students).
- Get plenty of rest and sleep. Something that I am NOT good at doing.

3 lbs in 5 weeks is not bad. I think 10 lbs in 5 weeks would have been just short of a miracle. For me it would have been!
I think having big goals like your Thanksgiving one are good as long as they aren't too hard. If you set the bar too high you might get discouraged. Having partners should help with that though! Just be proud of yourself even if you only lose 5 or 8 pounds by then. That's still great progress!
Sounds like a well-thought out plan Seeking and you have personal support (as well us) to help you along.
Pulling for you to "pull through" one day at at time!
my semester started this week and it's just been too insane to post. I had hoped to be much thinner before the semester started to, but I'm not and I'll just be happy to get organized at this point. good luck with prep.
