Quick Check-in

Hi Everyone:
I've been sticking to my 4-days-a-week walking routine! I even walked yesterday, when I felt like I was getting a migraine and it helped! Diet-wise I'm not eating great- I need to eat more salad and greens. For breakfast, I've been having either a smoothie or unsweetend whole grain cereal with banana and soy milk.

Addy's Breakfast Smoothie:
one banana
1/2 to 1 cup frozen blueberries
heaping TB ground flax meal (gotta have those Omega-3s!)
dash of cinnamon
dash of vanilla extract
dash stevia powder (depending how ripe banana is!)
plain or vanilla soymilk to desired smoothie thickness (I like it thinner)

Blend with a hand blender or in a blender & enjoy!

I'm off for a quick walk (with a movie) to fight off ANOTHER headache...

Yum, that smoothie sounds delicious (minus the blueberries...). The cinnamon especially seems like a good idea. Maybe I shuold pull the blender off the shelf and put it to some use. What a great way to get my fruits (which are a problem food group for me).

Way to go on the exercise too! I'm impressed! Even though I'm not doing it now, I know that when you exercise more you feel better. So yay for you!

ss: Yes- I seem to be getting headaches all of a sudden, but I don't know that I cam blame the weather. I think it must be a complex mixture of things for me, because I can think of lots of travel and other things this spring that seemed headache-inducing, but I never got one. I'm still wondering if it's the cheese I ate on Wednesday and Thursday (since I've been avoiding it lately). I tried walking when I felt like I was fighting the migraine, because I saw this page. It seems somewhat logical if the whole thing is related to blood flow, that exercising (getting your blood flowing) would help. I walked again today (I felt headache-y beforehand). Now, I'm fine!

betty: You've got it- I am NOT a fruit fan, so eating them in a pulverized form is my best hope! Although, today I had some tasty fresh pineapple that my husband was cutting up. It helps that he and my daughter LOVE fruit- at least I eat it a little aside from the smoothies!
