The Zone

You know the place, don't you? Have you been there before?

As I powered walked on the treadmill today, I could feel myself entering the Zone. It's that place where I am so into my workout that I can feel the body working as one unit. The neurotransmitters in my brain are bouncing like a pinball machine. It’s like my brain is waking up. I am so focused that I actually enjoy the feeling of movement. I want to push myself as far as possible. It's a total rush.

The same feeling continues as I move to weights. I really like weight training. Yes, it can be boring, but I circuit train in order to make the time go faster. Circuit training is where you move from one exercise to another, without stopping. A circuit usually contains three or four different exercises. Once you complete the circuit, you rest for a couple of minutes, and then repeat up to three circuits. I love the way my arms look, toned and tight. Plus, the chest presses and flys are great for keeping the girls up!

I love that feeling. It's like my body is this well-tuned machine, strong and powerful. I am in another place where I can focus on me.

You mentioned that parts of working out can get boring... that's part of my problem. I need ways to make exercising less like feeling like a hamster in a wheel, you know? I like the idea of changing it up a lot.

I love hearing how excited you feel about your workouts. It's inspiring!
