Stress Weight

I've put on some weight lately...some major "hold the phone, the scale says WHAT??!" weight. I'm in the midst of a move and so I keep putting off my health goals. My thinking has been "I'll focus on that once I'm settled" and "When things calm down, I'll work out" but after unpacking the box the scale was in and subsequently stepping on, I'm realizing that letting my health continue to slip is NOT an option. On my recent trip to the dr, she told me my cholesterol was high and encouraged me to drop some weight by the end of the summer. Instead, the scale is going the OTHER way and I need to reverse this ASAP.

I'm hoping to renew my commitment to my wii (once I figure out what box it's in and get it hooked up) and I hope to re-start my Couch to 5K program as well. I know with a move comes a good opportunity to start new habits and I'm hoping to kick start myself again.

I feel like my work-out motivation/schedule is this constant cycle of getting really motivated and focusing on it, then dropping off, getting really motivated, then back to laziness. How do you guys keep health and exercise as a constant priority, or is it an up and down battle for everyone??

It's a battle for me. I've noticed when I feel pretty good about life (I got an interview or something) then I'm excited and ready to work out. When thinggs are going in the opposite direction (another rejection? You canceled your search? WTF.) then I'm less likely to work out, even though I need it more then. When I feel needed and important it's easier to do things than when I'm not wanted and don't need to be anywhere.

One of my biggest struggles is keeping myself from sleeping late. I do it because I get depressed, but I want to stop so I can eat meals at normal times like the employed world is.

It is tough, but I try to stay focused with activity. It is really easy to let a 2-3 day miss of exercise turn into 2-3 weeks. Therefore, I try not to miss. I aim for consistency. I set a goal each week and strive for reaching 90% of it.
