First, is that how you spell publically? It just doesn't look right. Secondly, allow me to monopolize some blog space here (in addition to on my own blog.)
When I asked Seeking Solace to give me permission to join Active Academic (and she did, obviously bwahahaha!) I was really intimidated. Which is why I haven't posted anything yet. While public accountability can be very motivating, I've never done well with it because I am in constant fear of failure, then I beat myself up when I fail, never tell anyone I'm trying to lose weight again, never lose weight, etc etc. But I'm willing to try it again.
Education has not been kind to my body. Okay well, that makes me sound like I'm not responsible for how I treat my body. Let me rephrase: I have chosen to put my education above my health and body, with extremely negative consequences for, well both really. I am beginning to understand how closely my health and education are linked, in a way I didn't before. I'm also beginning to understand the impact this lack of balance has had and I really want to change it. I have a lot of changing to do.
So posting, for me, means that I am actively participating in February's challenge, that I'm not going to be intimidated by possible failure (I can do that challenge anyway!) and that I am going to soak up all the support and public accountability I can. Be prepared!
