Checking in...

Well, I have been quite absent from this blog lately, so I thought I should check in. I took a bit of a hiatus from WW during all of my travel last month. Last week, I went back to keeping track of my "points" and everything again. The good news is that I still lost 1/2 pound during the diet break and have not gained any weight back. I'm sure it will take a couple weeks of sticking to the plan again before I lose any more weight. I am currently 18.5 pounds down from where I started in January. I would like to lose another 25 pounds, which would get me to a BMI below 24 (I'm still at 28 now). I don't use BMI as my sole indicator for weight loss- my goal puts me at a weight I haven't seen since before I started my PhD and low enough that it wouldn't be a crisis if I gained a few pounds occasionally. I know it will take a while, but I am hoping to make some good progress this summer. It's been difficult getting back into it since the break, but I feel like I am getting into the swing of it again this week. In a way, my success is part of the problem- I can wear clothes that never fit me last summer (no more plus sizes and I had to buy new smaller underwear!), so the motivation to eat less isn't as strong- even though I have a LONG way to go. I'm walking on the treadmill 3 or 4 times a week, too (I didn't exercise as much when I traveled either). I'll keep you posted! Congrats to RageyOne for all of the running- that's awesome!

Hey Addy! Good neews about the losing while you were off program. That means the principles behind WW are becoming more and more ingrained in your way of life. Good deal!

Isn't it great to go down in sizes? Especially in underwear? We don't always think about downsizing in that area but it is progres. :)

Thanks for the recognizing my accomplishments. Come back and let us know how you are doing over the summer.

I love the Weight Watchers desserts. I have one every evening as my "treat".

Thanks, you guys! ss: I also love the WW desserts, but Skinny Cow is even better- unfortunately, I haven't been able to find their sundae cones lately :(

I've never tried skinny cow, even though I see them all the time (not the sundae cones though...hmm)

Good job at remaining steady while traveling. I relax more when I travel (mom say "out of state food has no calories", hehe) so I admire you for being able to lose while taking a break from WW.

You know, I recently tried the Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches and I do find that I like them better than the WW ones. I can tell the WW has artificial sugar wheras I can't with Skinny Cow.
