Progress Report

I only worked out two days last week. Circumstances beyond my control resulted in my inability to work out. Don't worry, it was nothing medical or anything impacting me physically or emotionally. But as I wrote in my own blog, it would compromise my identity to say what it was. But the good news is that I did not gain any weight during my hiatus.

I recently went shopping for jeans. Jeans shopping ranks up there with swimsuit shopping. It just sucks. But this time, it was a good experience. First, I am down a size (I am size 12 now). What was even better was that I was able to get my butt into a pair of Levi's. I have not worn a pair of Levi's in 15 years. I got the Relaxed Boot Cut, which is great if you have hips and a butt, but a small waist. They do not run too low, so no plumber butt! My husband likes the way the look too.

I am so excited about my progress. I can't believe how far I have come since January of this year. So far, I have lost 15 pounds. It was slow in the beginning, but now it seems like the weight is coming off faster. My goal is to lose another 6-8 pounds by Thanksgiving. My 20th high school reunion is scheduled that weekend. Long term, I would like to reach my law school weight of 125-130 pounds by next summer.

I am so glad I have a place to share my triumphs and frustrations. I often think about you all and wondering how your progress is going. I hope all is well with everyone.

I am thinking about writing a post about how to get through the holidays and the end of the semester without abandoning our fitness goals. I know for me, this time of year is really tough, especially with all the tasty treats out there! How do you deal with the holiday heinousness?????

Hooray! For Seeking! Geeting into a smaller size is wonderful news and great progress! I am really excited for you and your willingness to keep at it despite various trials and tribulations. Keep it up and looking forward to hearing about staying the course through the holidays.

Great news! Keep it up, and we'll all be celebrating with,... uh... um... a nice celery stick? [SNORT] I'm sure we'll figure something out.

Glad your husband likes the way the jeans look. #1 we've got to please ourselves. But if we're spending our lives with a #2, might as well make them happy too.
