I exercised yesterday for the first time in longer than I'd like to admit! Since the weather has been so horrendous here (hot & sticky) AND I haven't been getting up very early, I broke down and walked on the treadmill yesterday afternoon. I only walked two miles and it was pretty slow (34 minutes), but at least I finally did something! I find treadmills SO boring that I try to avoid using them- even though we have one in our basement (my husband runs on it). We have a stack of boxes set up right in front of the treadmill, so I can set up the portable DVD player- I watched the first 35 minutes of Mystic Pizza as I walked yesterday (I have to watch non-serious movies as I'm walking and we don't have too many comedies!) I walk slower in the treadmill than I do outside, because I have to hold on (remember George Jetson walking Astro?). Now that I am not restricting myself to only exercise in the morning (which is what I had been doing), I am hoping to get back to at least four days a week. I'll keep you posted. And good luck to everyone else who is getting started with an exercise program!

I love the idea of having the DVD player on while working out on the treadmill.
Love the Astro reference. I would love to get my dog on the treadmill for the days I can't take him on his leash. Maybe I could have the DVD play videos of rabbits!
