A Female Thing.....

I'm somewhat embarrassed to post on this, but I'm hoping the women of the Active Academic can help me.

Weeks 1-3 of the month I'm on track with my eating and exercise program and the scale drops steadily for me, but once that week of "Flo" comes around, I seem to gain nearly all the weight back and have to start all over! I've been doing this to myself for months and it's driving me crazy. Does anyone else have this problem and what do you do about it??

Help!

I have always said that when I die, if I go to Heaven (assuming there is one, I am going to find Eve and kick her ass. Thanks to her, we all have to suffer!

That being said, I have a similar problem. Some of the weight gain is water retention. If you are like me, you blow up like a balloon. It's the fluctuation in hormones that does it.

I try to increase my water intake. It sounds counter-productive, but having water can flush out your system.

Also, watch your intake of salty foods. That can also lead to weight gain at that time.

Ditto to everything seeking said, actually!

Triple ditto. Of course, my surefire method is to stay off the scales so I can pretend not to notice the difference in the first place...

For me, it is definitely bloating. I must drink more water to get rid of the excess. I find that I jsut don't get on the scale that wekk.
