Update

First off, congrats to Ragey for running a 10K. I really think that's amazing.

Day three, week 1: I have ate well all this week. That means 3 meals a day. Not a handful of goldfish crackers for lunch. But a real lunch. During the day my appetite is curbed pretty well. It's just that time from about 8:30pm-10 ish that I start to get hungry. So I've been having a serving size of tootsie rolls and come milk. Normally I would eat a bowl of cereal, a lot of tootsie rolls or just a lot of junk.

Tip: (this worked until I stopped doing it (huh)) I put stuff like tootsie rolls or peanut m&m's in mini-snack bags, measured/counted out based on their serving size. I find that I'm much more aware of what I'm eating--"oh no! I can only have one snack bag a day!" instead of several handfuls throughout the day--and it makes me save it. So no over-eating, but you still get that nice sweet (whatever) at the end of the day.

It makes a real difference when you have a real lunch, doesn't it??? :)

I love your snack size idea. I have issues with dessert. I want more! So I use the Weight Watcher's Smart Ones Desserts. They are perfect serving size. Plus, they are usually on sale at the supermarket in our neck of the woods that starts with a "W"!

That is wonderful RL. Eating a meal for lunch really makes a difference.

Very smart of you to package your snacks into single serving sizes. It is very difficult for us to know how much a serving is when we just continue to reach into the bag full of chips, cookies, crackers, etc. By portioning out the items you have a better chance of limiting how much you are eating.

Keep it up!
