In 10 days

I will run a 10K!

I'm not really sure if I'm ready for this adventure, but here I am. I've not been training like I should. Travel has really hindered me. I missed an entire week of training.

A 10K is 6.2 miles. The longest distance I've run is 4.2 miles, flat. I believe I have stamina to run the entire distance, as long as I pace myself. My biggest concern are the hills. I've been told that are 2 hills and one of them is notorious. Eek! That scares me. I have tried to run routes that include hills during my training, but they are the challenging to me. I end up walking half of the hill because I just can't pull it out.

I know there is nothing wrong with walking the hills during the race. If I have to, that is what I will do.

In preparation for the race, I went to Academy yesterday to purchase some clothing specifically for running. I know that it will be really hot on that day and I am in the South. I am used to running really early in the morning, before the sun is shining. Well, it will later on race day so I wanted to invest in some dri-fit apparel. I got 2 of these shirts, 2 pair of fitted running shorts, and 2 pair of underwear. If you have an Academy in your area and you've never been there, you should check it out. They offer really good prices.

I wore what I purchased yesterday during my run this morning. I really liked the way the items fit. I think they will definitely work on race day and I may invest in more of this dri-fit apparel.

Cross posted on my blog.

I am curious about the UnderArmour stuff. I want to try it but it is not available locally. Do you think it would fit a D/DD cupsize?

Em - I have found the best sports bras for D/DD cup size are Champion. Specifically, this one. I wear it exclusively and it provides great support.

I've not tried the Under Armour sports bras.

Thanks Rageyone. I'll check it out. I used to be a fan of the double-dry Champion bras when I was in the B/C range.
